FULL-STACK DEVELOPERS · SCALE ARMY

The Full-Stack Developer Your Team Has Been Waiting For.

A great full-stack developer doesn't hand things off. They write the API, build the UI, deploy the feature, and debug it in production. Start to finish. We find those developers and place them in 14 days, for 70% less than a US hire.

  • Every full-stack developer we place has shipped production code on both sides. Not one side with light exposure to the other. We screen for genuine full-stack depth at every level.
  • 600+ applicants per search. Live coding challenges, system design reviews, and architecture walkthroughs in your actual stack. The shortlist you see has already passed a more rigorous technical filter than most companies run themselves.
  • Native English, US time-zone aligned, month-to-month, no lock-in, no upfront cost, free replacement if it doesn't work out.

Not a generalist. A master of both worlds.

Most developers are strong on one side and passable on the other. A genuinely great full-stack developer is rare — they have deep expertise across the entire product surface, can architect a system from the database schema to the pixel, and can do it without needing three other people to review their blind spots.

That's the bar we screen to. We've run hundreds of full-stack searches. We know the difference between someone who lists both sides on a CV and someone who has shipped real production systems end-to-end. You only meet the latter.

They design the system, not just the feature. Database schema, API contracts, state management, caching strategy. They've thought about all of it before writing a line of code. You're not getting someone who just executes.
They don't wait on the backend team to expose an endpoint or the frontend team to implement a design. They unblock themselves, and in doing so, they unblock everyone else. Sprint velocity goes up not because they work harder but because fewer things are blocked.
They understand how their frontend code affects API performance and how their database queries affect the user experience. They think in systems, not in layers, which means they catch problems before they become incidents.
They've debugged things at 11pm. They know how to read logs, trace a slow query, reproduce a race condition, and ship the fix without causing three new bugs in the process. Production experience is what separates them from someone who's only ever worked in staging.

Matched to your stack. Not just familiar with it.

Every full-stack developer we place has real production experience across the front-end, back-end, and infrastructure they claim. We screen for it, not their word for it.

We screen around 600 applicants per search. Every developer completes a live coding challenge in your specific stack, a system design exercise, and a communication screen. You never read a resume. You just show up to interview three people who already passed a rigorous technical filter.
Day 1: we finalize your job description. Days 2–8: sourcing and technical screens. Days 9–12: you interview the shortlist. Day 14: your developer starts. That's faster than most companies finish their first round of technical interviews internally.
We only place developers in time zones within 6 hours of the US. No night shifts, no burnout cycle, no churning to the next offer when the lifestyle becomes unsustainable. Developers placed through Scale Army stay because the job is sustainable, not because they have no other option.
No upfront placement fee. Month-to-month contracts. Free replacement if the developer isn't the right fit. We're confident enough in our technical screening that we don't need a contract or a fee to earn your continued business.
International employment, currency conversion, tax compliance, and monthly payroll, all on us. You pay one invoice. We manage everything on the back end so you never have to think about the administrative side of having a global engineering team.
Your developer is in your morning standup. They're in Slack when you message them. They submit PRs during your working hours so your team can review and merge the same day. We only source from regions within 6 hours of US time zones, LATAM, Africa, MENA, and Eastern Europe.

Built by someone who had the same problem you have.

Alex founded Scale Army after leading growth at several high-growth, venture-backed startups where he saw firsthand how the best companies scaled faster by unlocking the global talent market while their competitors burned months on domestic hiring cycles that never ended.

Today, Scale Army operates across the U.S. and 14 other countries. The engineering team that builds and maintains our own platform is entirely nearshore. We don't just place this model. We depend on it. Every software developer we put in front of you is held to the same standard we use internally.

Things people ask before they stop overthinking and hire.

We run a two-part live coding challenge — one front-end, one back-end — both in the specific frameworks you use. We then run a system design exercise that requires them to architect a full product from the database schema to the UI. Anyone who is strong on one side and weak on the other fails the weak side and doesn't advance. You only meet developers who passed both.
Both, depending on seniority. A senior or lead full-stack developer from Scale Army can own an entire codebase independently — make architecture decisions, ship features end-to-end, and take responsibility for production. A mid-level developer works best with some technical direction but operates largely autonomously on feature implementation. We'll tell you upfront which profile fits your situation based on the brief.
We replace them. That's not a loophole — it's the point. Our screening exists specifically to catch this before you hire. If a developer passes our screens and still doesn't hold up in practice, we find you someone who does. No argument, no invoice, no starting from scratch on your own.
That's the specific thing we screen for. We ask every candidate to write actual code during the screening process — not pseudocode, not whiteboard exercises. They write it in the framework you use. If they can't navigate your stack confidently during screening, they don't make the shortlist. We tell you upfront if there's a ramp gap and we don't send you someone we're not confident in.
14 days from brief to start date. Day 1: we finalize the job description. Days 2–8: we source and run full-stack technical screens. Days 9–12: you interview the shortlist. Day 14: your developer starts. We've never lost a head-to-head against another international agency on speed.
Month-to-month, 30 days notice to cancel. We ask for 30 days because your developer is invested in the work and deserves fair notice — not because we need a contract to keep your business. No placement fee, no exit fee, no lock-in.
We handle all of it. International employment, local tax compliance, currency conversion, and monthly payroll — one invoice from us, nothing else to manage. Your full-stack developer is treated like a full member of your team and compensated reliably and on time. That's part of why our attrition rate is under 5%.

Stop splitting your stack across two hires. Get one developer who owns all of it.

Tell us your stack, your product, and what production-ready looks like to you. We handle sourcing, screening, and placing, in 14 days.
